Dear journal (I bet he had one),
Found out from one of the cool spy planes today that the Soviets have been building missile bases on Cuban soil. I couldn't believe it! That's way too close to my land. It's not fair that other super powers are creating missile bases. I started a naval blockade and if I told those guys if I have to, I will invade. But after a long game of chicken we came to an agreement. We'll dismantle our weapons. I suppose it's better off this way, even if they don't view me as a strong leader. America is still number one!

Favorable Webquest

WWII, Holocaust, Germany Webquest
In my opinion, this Webquest guides students to finding inforamtion about Germany during WWII that they may not have found in their textbooks. The layout is easy to use and each task is fully described, as well as, having helpful tips on how to use PowerPoint at the end of their task. It's concise and should give students a full understanding of what is expected. The resources are interesting and unlike the previous Webquest, I feel students could reach full potential as far as the rubric is concerned. I enjoy the concept and that the creator was so detailed with directions. This could easily be implemented into any Social Studies classroom that wants to have a more in depth understanding of Germany, the Holocaust and Hitler during WWII.

Poor Quality Webquest

A Webquest on the Atom Bomb
Although I find the concept of this Webquest interesting, I would have liked it more if it was more involved. The general color scheme is not aesthetically enjoyable, in my opinion, which makes it more difficult for me to pay attention. The choice of pictures and the lack of pictures is a main reason that I chose this as a poor quality Webquest. The resource page is plentiful but including pictures or news reports to help the student come to a conclusion would have been more beneficial. The evaluation page is descriptive but I don't believe I would get the student responses that I would consider an advanced response based off of the resources available on the site. I would consider using this concept for a Webquest but instead of using the one available, I would create my own with a better layout, pictures and resources for my students.
